Alert Pay

The founders of this venture are Scott Messina and Shawn Pringle.  You can look them up on social websites.  As much as I can find, Scott has been involved in real estate publications and mortgage ventures and Shawn has been in marketing internet sites, etc.  

The guys made some mistakes in rolling the product out the first time and getting people a way to pay them was one.  They intially used PayPal to establish a system to send commissions to referral sources.  I do not know all the reasons why they switched but they changed to AlertPay.  There are many different opinions about AlertPay, but I have found more positive reviews than negative.  Check out this article from CNNMoney and Fortune.

Currently this opportunity is only available in the USA and Canada because of the pay issues.  It will be interesting to see if AlertPay can help the team sort that out in the future.

Chatting on your cell phone

A new widget is being built for social media pages and websites that allows users on the net to open a chat window and send a message directly to your cell phone as a text message.  You then have the ability to send a message back.  This allows you to not have to post your cell phone number to all who see the web page but be in communication with folks even when you are not on-line.

The service cost $6 monthly.  The widget is being distributed by the users in a multi-level fashion so you can make money as you tell and sell your friends on the service.

There are real applications for the service for self employed business people such as Realtors who may make additional sales by interacting with customers.
